Losing a step? Not the gals in the SM F&M Turf

With the ongoing interminable football post I've been swamped (blog wise), but I can't resist the ease of noting that the 1/2/3 finishers in the Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf (Hooh Why, Romacaca, Speak Easy Gal) are all 6 years old.

Six-year-olds also finished 1/2/3 in the Evening Attire at Aqueduct. This was hardly even a betting angle if you are superstitious; the 6-year-olds had little competition in a 5-horse field. A race like the Evening Attire in January at Aqueduct should have 6-year-olds dominating it, too. It wouldn't quite be true to say Evening Attire seemed ageless, except maybe when it came to 12-furlong races, but he remained graded-stakes caliber through his 10-year-old year.
